Carole joined the Student Learning Centre in 2008 as the Lecturer in Learning Development at the University of Otago, Christchurch. After attending university in the UK, Carole worked in New Zealand as an adult education lecturer in English Literature, and in Canada as course convenor of the University of Guelph’s freshman writing and literature programme. In 1991 she was appointed by the University of Canterbury to develop the Writing and Study Skills Programme, now the Learning Skills Centre. Her main research interest is the learning issues faced by adult students beginning or returning to higher education.
