PhD in Medical Education
PhD Scholarship in Medical Education
The Faculty of Medicine is pleased to offer a PhD scholarship for clinically-qualified graduates who are interested in researching a topic in medical education.
The scholarship will be awarded for a three year period at $20,000 per year plus fees. Part time PhDs will be considered. We invite applications from graduates in clinical health care disciplines. Non-clinically qualified applicants with a strong background in education may be considered but applicants from the first category will have priority. As the scholarship's purpose is to encourage specialisation in clinical education at Otago, a demonstrable commitment to the University is also an advantage.
The successful applicant will be supervised by highly experienced and internationally acknowledged educational researchers. Applicants may be based in any one of the School locations (Dunedin, Christchurch, or Wellington) or associated sites (eg Invercargill, Palmerston North), provided suitable supervisory arrangements can be made.
For more information about the scholarship and application process, please contact Joy Rudland, Director, Faculty Education Unit, 03 479 5082. Applicants should note that the award of the scholarship will be conditional on the applicant being accepted for admission to the PhD programme, and should be familar with the eligibility requirements for this.
