Peer Review
The Early Learning in Medicine programme offers a peer review ( peer observation of teaching) process as one of many ways to support ongoing professional development.
The aim of peer review is to offer opportunities for teachers to talk about aspects of their teaching in a collegial environment where ongoing participation and contribution to teaching and learning development is valued.
All tutors in the ELM year 2/3 programmes: Healthcare in the Community, Clinical Skills, and Integrated Cases are encouraged to participate in peer observation of their teaching (2 yearly is desirable).
The ELM programme would also like to encourage and support module lecturers to participate in a modified process that best suits their teaching context.
