Welcome to the Medical Education Website

Welcome

Welcome to the Faculty of Medicine’s Medical Education website.

A major component of the Faculty’s activities is educating students so they will graduate with the understanding and skills required of medical professionals who can serve the changing health needs of the community. Helping students to develop these skills is both challenging and rewarding, and we aim to improve the effectiveness of their learning by providing appropriate and effective courses that are delivered and supported by highly qualified staff.

To respond to changes in healthcare and the community, we continually review our curriculum to plan for improvements and changes. We consult with a range of stakeholders to inform curriculum evolution, and use an ongoing evaluation process to monitor quality. We encourage and participate in research into educational theory and practice, and use this research to help support and advise clinical and administrative staff on all aspects of the learning process.

This website’s purpose is to inform staff of the Faculty’s approaches to developing excellence in medical education. It is maintained by the Faculty Education Unit, who welcome your feedback about further information you would find useful.
