Medical Education Oversight in the Faculty of Medicine

Overall responsibility for oversight of the curriculum in medicine is provided by the Faculty of Medicine Curriculum Committee (FCC).

The FCC has a number of subcommittees, including the FCC Assessment Committee, and Medical Education Committees (MEC). The Medical Education Committees provide oversight of the major components of the curriculum. The Medical Education Committees of the FCC are:
  • Early Learning in Medicine years 2 and 3
    • Medical Education Committee years 2 and 3
  • Advanced Learning in Medicine years 4 - 6
    • Medical Education Committee years 4 and 5
    • Medical Education Committee year 6 (Trainee intern year)
Further important components of the structure for implementation of the curriculum are the Medical Education Groups, and the Faculty Education Unit and Medical Education Units within the Schools.
