About Workshop | This course is a five-day intensive short story writing workshop based on Dunedin’s Northern Cemetery. The aim of the course is to combine elements of observation, research and imagination to produce a 3,000–5,000 word short story. How you approach the theme of the Northern Cemetery is entirely up to you – there are many stories to be told. Possible topics could include historical fiction and life stories of notable figures buried in the cemetery, or the lives of “everyday” men and women of early Otago.
